Master of Deception
Genesis 27:1-29
1. When we try to force the hand of God, we only deceive ourselves. Genesis 27:1-13

“And the Lord said to her, ‘Two nations are in your womb, and two peoples from within you shall be divided; the one shall be stronger than the other, the older shall serve the younger.’” Genesis 25:23

How do we try to force the hand of God?
A. We try to force the hand of God when we are uncertain what the future holds.
Genesis 27:5

“When Esau was forty years old, he took Judith the daughter of Beeri the Hittite to be his wife, and Basemath the daughter of Elon the Hittite, and they made life bitter for Isaac and Rebekah.” Genesis 26:35

B. We try to force the hand of God when we trust our voice more than the voice of God. Genesis 27:8

2. Trust the hand of God, and not your own plans and schemes. Genesis 27:14-29
“And not only so, but also when Rebecca had conceived children by one man, our forefather Issac, though they were not yet born and had done nothing either good or bad-in order that God’s purpose of election might continue, not because of works but because of his call-she was told ‘the older will serve the younger.’” Romans 9:11-12

“that no one is sexually immoral or unholy like Esau, who sold his birthright for a single meal. For you know that afterward, when he desired to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no chance to repent, though he sought it with teams “ Hebrews 12:16-17
