FOSTER CARE, ADOPTION,& GLOBAL ORPHAN CARE

The Empty Chair Ministry commissions those within the Church to actively love and disciple orphaned/vulnerable children and families through foster care, adoption, and acts of service.

Rooted in God’s love and guided by biblical truth, the Empty Chair Ministry meets practical and spiritual needs by providing a Christ-centered community, prevention-focused support, resources, and meaningful opportunities for connection so that orphaned/vulnerable children and families can experience the gospel.

We envision a redeemed world where cycles of crisis are broken, families are restored, and all know Christ.

WHY IS IT CALLED EMPTY CHAIR?

The empty chair represents the space within families to love and disciple orphaned/vulnerable children. It reminds us that God has prepared a place before a child ever arrives.

Do you have an empty chair at your kitchen table or in your minivan? Do you have space in your life to welcome a child-through adoption, foster care, mentoring, prayer, or volunteering?

MISSIONS: We partner with Jensen Blevins, a missionary in Guatemala. Jensen is Director of Hilos Guatemala, a ministry that empowers and cares for single/widowed women through Christ-centered discipleship, trauma-informed care, and embroidery trade-skills training. Our vision is to keep families together and prevent children from entering the Guatemalan orphan care system.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS FOR FCC FOSTER/ADOPT FAMILIES

Fellowship Community Church recognizes that it is a significant emotional and financial responsibility to foster/adopt and we want to do all we can to support those families.  One way we can help is by offering Camp Scholarships to children in FCC families who foster/adopt. Scholarships are limited and available until funds are fully used.

Thanks to the generosity of our church community, all 2026 Empty Chair Camp scholarship funds have been fully used. We will share information about future opportunities as they become available. Camp scholarship opportunities may still be available through other programs, please contact church staff for more information.
