City Mission Roanoke
City Mission has a vision to see churches come together to serve the most challenging communities of Roanoke City and be spiritually and socially renewed by the good news of Jesus. They meet in four locations across the Roanoke Valley and prepare and serve breakfast to students and families. They also prepare a bible story, memory verse, and craft for those who come to eat each week.
Empty Chair Ministry: Foster/Adoption
Minister to families who participate in foster care, adoption, and international orphan care.
Safe Families for Children & CarePortal
Safe Families empowers the church to support, mentor, and disciple families in crisis. As a preventative option before foster care, this is a powerful tool for keeping families together. We believe all children do best in the context of the family unit, with the Body of Christ as support.
CarePortal is an online platform that connects individuals and groups with the needs of vulnerable families and children in our community. Respected organizations such as Roanoke DSS or the Rescue Mission can post basic needs of a family that, if fulfilled, can radically change the trajectory of their vulnerable situation. This helps keep families together, prevent children from going into foster care, and support kids already in the system.
